BATLEY BULLDOGS v ROCHDALE HORNETS INJURY-HIT Batley entertain in-form side Rochdale with free-scoring fullback Craig Lingard their main doubt.
Lingard has a knee problem which may need the fluid drained from it before the game. With Mark Cass still having treatment for a leg injury and props Craig Booth and Steve Hill struggling with injuries, coach Paul Storey is hard-pressed to name a strong side.
Ex-Rochdale forward Joe Berry is also ruled out after it was written into his contract before he moved that he couldn't play against Hornets this season.
The only relief on the horizon for Storey is that Gavin Swinson and Mark Toohey could be passed fit before the weekend.
Rochdale will run checks on David Stephenson, Jon Roper and Paul Owen, while winger Casey Mayberry is still sidelined with a knee ligament injury.
Coach Martin Hall is also on the point of making a bid for Salford's Radney Bowker, who completes another on-loan stage at Rochdale on Sunday.

NATIONAL LEAGUE TWO
GATESHEAD THUNDER v WORKINGTON TOWN
THUNDER have been forced to switch this game to the Monkton Stadium, Jarrow for their home clash with Workington Town on Saturday night (7.00).
And that has left coach Paul Fletcher with a problem.
"I understand it's a narrow pitch, and could suit Workington so we will have to adjust our style of play,'' declared Fletcher, who expects to have scrum-half Neil Thorman on the bench, while prop David Bates is doubtful with a knee injury.
"We are going into the game with plenty of confidence after recent weeks, although we are down to 19 players at the moment,'' said Fletcher, who hopes to bolster the club funds with a sponsored abseil down the Tyne Bridge, Newcastle on June 26th.
"I don't know how I will cope, I'm absolutely terrified of heights,'' admitted Fletcher.
Meanwhile, Workington boss Bill McGinty has been rocked by an injury to rugged forward William Blackburn, who has broken his left thumb for the second time in two months.
"It looks like he may need to have the injury pinned,'' admitted McGinty, who will probably switch Gareth Dean off the bench, although Gary Charlton is due back from injury.
SUNDAY
NATIONAL LEAGUE ONE
HULL KR v OLDHAM
THE Robins expect to have new signing Makali Aizue making his debut against Oldham at Craven Park.
The 26 year old Papua New Guinea international back row forward is having a further run in the club's under-21s ahead of the match, according to Robins' chief executive Nick Halafihi.
"He's a top signing and we expect big things from his game,'' said Halafihi.
Hooker Paul Pickering is set to return from injury, but there are worries about the fitness of ex-Great Britain prop Harvey Howard along with halfbacks Latham Tawhai and Craig Murdock. Thus Jimmy Walker is on standby.
Oldham, who brought league leaders Leigh Centurions down to earth last week, will check out prop Paul Norton (arm) before coach Steve Molloy names his side.
"The tight Craven Park pitch will be our biggest worry,'' admitted Molloy, who was delighted with Dan Potter's first game for the club after his on-loan move from Widnes Vikings.
"His arrival has put a bit of pressure one certain players who believed they were an integral part of the squad,'' revealed Molloy.
LEIGH CENTURIONS v DONCASTER DRAGONS
POINTS machine Neil Turley is poised to make his comeback from injury and could force his way into the side from the kick-off against Doncaster.
Coach Paul Terzis refused to gamble with Turley against Oldham last week, but he is ready to hand him the fullback role again.
With scrum-half John Duffy (knee) in some doubt about his fitness; either John Hamilton or Lee Sanderson will take over the No 7 shirt.
Ex-Doncaster players Dale Cardoza and Leroy Rivett are set to play against their former club, but Cardoza faces a possible disciplinary action after he was put on report against Oldham. And that could rule him out of the Arriva Trains Cup semi-final against Whitehaven a week on Sunday.
Jason Lee (back), Craig Horne (groin) and Simon Irving (leg) all face fitness tests before St John Ellis names his Doncaster line-up.
But Old Brodleians rugby union back Martin Sykes will resume at centre following his promising debut against Salford City Reds.
SALFORD CITY REDS v DEWSBURY RAMS
AUSSIE utility player Mick Berne will make his debut for Salford against Dewsbury on Sunday.
Berne, 21, can fill in at centre, wing or second row, according to coach Karl Harrison, but the Reds fans can expect to see him as partner to Leeds' experienced on-loan centre Andy Kirk.
Alan Hunte may well switch wings to accommodate Berne, with Mike Platt stepping down.
"We have got to give his chance this week. He has trained with the club for ten days now and has had the chance to settle in,'' said Harrison, who reports an otherwise fully-fit squad.
Dewsbury welcome back pack leader Frank Watene, while coach Andy Fisher names new on-loan signings Kevin Crouthers and Paul Gleadhill in his side.
Crouthers has joined Dewsbury on a month's loan from Warrington Wolves, while former Batley winger Gleadhill has also joined the Rams.
"I couldn't miss out on the chance of having Paul with us for a while, if not longer,'' said Rams coach Fisher, who may just name himself on the bench against Salford.
Castleford's on-loan prop Glen Spedding will probably make way for Watene, while new signing Graham Law could play if centre Ryan Hardy fails a fitness test.
WHITEHAVEN v FEATHERSTONE ROVERS
A LATE fitness check on second row forward Spencer Miller could rule him out of Whitehaven's home game against Featherstone.
Miller was carried off with a suspected broken ankle against Batley and while the injury was diagnosed as severe bruising, it could well persuade coach Steve McCormack to bring in either Mike Whitehead or Tony Cunningham in his place.
"Spencer still has a few days to recover and I would hope that he does because he is a valuable asset to the pack,'' said McCormack, who also has winger Mark Wallace on standby.
Featherstone's worries eased after both stand-off Richard Agar and hooker Richard Chapman reported no after-effects from last Sunday's narrow win over Hull KR.
Coach Andy Kelly was delighted with the news and anticipates an unchanged side travelling to Cumbria at the weekend.
"It's the first time in a while that I am able to name an unchanged squad,'' said Kelly, who is pleased with ex-Huddersfield forward Chris Molyneux's form in recent games.
NATIONAL LEAGUE TWO
KEIGHLEY COUGARS v BARROW RAIDERS
COCK-A-HOOP Keighley have set their sights on maximum points from the home game against Barrow.
The Cougars, leading National League Two with a so-far unblemished record of five wins on the trot, are riding the crest of a wave.
Coach Gary Moorby, with only Ricky Helliwell to worry about on the injury front, was in bubbly mood after the win at Workington last week.
"Our second half performance was as good as it gets,'' said Moorby, who watched centre Matt Foster and wing partner Andy Robinson scoot in for a brace of tries each
"Andy is benefiting from Matt's experience and I think he could well go places,'' forecast Moorby, who snapped Robinson up from amateurs Dewsbury Moor following a series of trials last season.
Barrow hope to have Paul Salmon signed on by the end of the week after the hard-running winger agreed to return to the club following his short spell with Widnes Vikings.
"Paul has opted to sign for us, despite the interest of several other top clubs,'' said coach Cameron Bell, who has five players in need of treatment ahead of the game at Keighley.
However, trialists Matt Jefferson and Jamie Smith are expected to sign contracts with Barrow next week.
SHEFFIELD EAGLES v CHORLEY LYNX
PLAYER-COACH Mark Aston is contemplating a switch in his pack for the home game against Chorley.
Aston is planning to bring in ex-Rochdale and York hooker Darren Robinson for his first game since he joined the club on trial.
"Darren has done exceptionally well in training and I think I may well give him the chance to prove his worth,'' said Aston, who could also have Nick Turnbull back from injury.
With Damien Whitter in need of further treatment and Richard Goddard forced to have a scan on his damaged ankle, Aston is without two of his more experienced forwards.
Chorley will hand new signing Neil Harmon a first team spot after the former Warrington, Leeds and Halifax prop agreed to join them on a week-to-week basis.
Lynx coach Darren Abram, who has made some shrewd signings this season, will probably have Harmon on the bench to start with, although with prop Dave Whittle suspended and Tim Street in need of treatment, Abram may be forced into playing Harmon from the kick-off.
"Sheffield will be a tough nut to crack on their own ground,'' said Abram, who is looking for his third win from six games.
YORK CITY KNIGHTS v SWINTON LIONS
KNIGHTS boss Paul Broadbent is in danger of missing the home game with Swinton.
Broadbent twisted a knee in the win over Barrow and may be forced to stand down.
"It's getting easier by the day, but I won't decide on my fitness until Saturday,'' said Broadbent, who admitted he was much relieved after York picked up their first win of the season last week.
"There was a better feel about the place in training this week,'' he revealed.
Swinton will be without Chris Roe (torn calf muscle) and possibly Phil Cushion (ankle) for the trip to York.
Coach Peter Roe, sickened by the news that prop Andy Leathem has decided to retire from the game, is hoping to name virtually the same side that won at Sheffield two weeks ago.
LONDON SKOLARS v HUNSLET HAWKS
THE Skolars, still searching for their first win of the season, could well name an unchanged side for the home game against Hunslet.
Coach Mark Croston is waiting on the fitness of Alan Tito and Rubert Jonker, before making his final decision.
Hunslet expect to be without prop Craig Ibbetson (arm) for the trip to London. Thus ex-Huddersfield Giants forward Lee Freeman, signed this week by coach Roy Sampson, could make his debut. Hooker Jermaine Wray, another of Sampson's new signings, could also win a place on the bench.
Aussie Steve Doherty has a head injury, while centre Steve Jakeman is back in contention.
However, ex-Sheffield forward Wayne Freeman could face disciplinary action after being put on report following an alleged incident on Eagles coach Mark Aston.
