Martin did say that he would take up his disputed points with Ray Taylor personally. Obviously, if there are contradictions in the version of events, it would be remiss of us to present one side of the story without the other.

So, pending discussions between Ray and Martin - and hopefully either a clarification of points or an agreement to draw a line under this messy episode - we've witheld the statement for now.

We will speak to Martin and Ray again once they've had a conversation, but - having also spoken to two members of the mystery consortium - we've felt like a bloody tennis ball this week, getting our ears chewed from all sides.

Our ultimate hope is that we can present both sides of the argument equally and let the supporters make up thair own minds - as long as the fans think that this is a story worth pursuing.

However, it is difficult to present an independent supporters' view when all versions of events seem to contradict each other so hugely.

There will be ample opportunity for all supporters to debate the facts, opinions, hearsay and hindsight of this matter at the Nest Egg Meeting on Tuesday 9th December - where hopefully we, the supporters, can reach a suitable resolution amongst ourselves and move on for the good of the club.
