In the build-up to this weekend’s most intriguing Powergen Challenge Cup encounter, we profile Dinamo Moscow's ambitious multi-millionaire owner Akhmet Khaneldinov.

With fingers in more pies than a greedy Wigan fan, entrepreneur Khaneldinov is rumoured to be looking for a British club to invest in.

Well, if it works for Chelski...

Dinamo Moscow's ambitious multi-millionaire owner Akhmet Khaneldinov is rumoured to be looking for a British club to invest in.

Having played the game in its infancy in Russia - and currently president of the Russian Rugby League - Khaneldinov says he's serious about staking a major claim in both the Russian and British games.

The owner of Moscow's largest casino (does this make him a Russian roulette magnate?) Khaneldinov has enhanced his fortune from theatre and property ventures - and he's on a major quest to put Russian Rugby league on the international sporting map.

He's already recruited ex-kiwi coach Bob Bailey, two Kiwi 'A' tourists from the New Zealand domestic Bartercard competition and ex-Halifax full back Lee Finnerty - and begun exporting talent too. Only this week Sergei Dobrynine and Vladimir Trofimov - try scorers in the last round - have begun a three week trial at Wests Tigers in Australia's NRL.

Rumours at Red Hall sugest that the RFL is aware of Khaneldinov's interest in taking a stake in a British club - so if he's got a million to spare, he could always talk to us!
