Windy Willows 18/02/2004 Media Man
It’s all gone windy at the Willows.
Hypocrite Harrison cries poverty
As Salford steamed through National League 1 last year fuelled by the universally loathed £100,000 parachute payment, they didn’t really give much of a thought to the clubs who struggled along on part-time squads and.. er... well... no parachute payment.

But no sooner are the Reds back in Super League than they’re crying about the financial imbalance of it all. Salford are amongst the clutch of clubs crying out for the Salary Cap to be lowered in order for the competition to be ‘equalised’. Bloody hypocrites.

“We don’t have the luxury like the big clubs of knowing we’ll be around next season,” sobbed Karl Harrison, producing a small onion: “... we are just having to pour everything into winning games to survive this year.”

But the blubbing doesn’t stop there: “We have got the smallest squad and the smallest amount being spent on wages, so we haven’t got the players to compete with the big boys.”

Pathetic.
