Overnight in Wales 18/04/2006 Jim
As you all know, Hornets have drawn Celtic Crusaders away at Brewery Field, Bridgend in the next round of the Northern Rail Cup.

In consultation with Head Coach Darren Abram - the Directors of the club have decided allow the team to travel down and stay over on Saturday night.

In order to give the team the best chance of progressing to the next round on the 7th May (and gaining a larger amount of prize money), the coaching
team has spent time and effort choosing a suitable hotel, that is not only close to the ground, but also understands the nutritional needs of a sports team and has appropriate facilities for the team to use.

The board has calculated the cost of the trip to be in the region of £2000. With an estimated gate of around 500 people this will inevitably mean that the club will suffer a monetary loss on the weekend.

To help mitigate any financial loss, the club has written to all sponsors and box holders for any assistance they can offer towards the the cost of
the trip. With no amount too small, this helps relieve the burden of asking the usual one or two parties to help fund the overnight stay.

Some time ago, the Nest Egg members voted for an 'operating budget' of £200 - the maximum amount that can be spent on the association's behalf without
calling a meeting and holding a vote.

The Celtic Crusaders initiative is one worthy of the Nest Egg's support and, as such, we will be donating £200 to the cause in line with our 'operating
budget' mandate - and in line with our commitment to supporting the board, the team and the club in whatever way we can.

While Nest Egg members have previously contributed individually to team travelling and accommodation expenses, we are delighted to be able to
contribute as a group and make another vital contribution to what we hope will be another Rochdale Hornets success.

In return we will receive acknowledgement on a sign that will appear in the Hornets coach (vehicle, not Darren) along with the other people who have
supported this venture. In addition we should get a mention in special features in the programme and the Rochdale Observer.

If you're not a member of the Nest Egg - or if indeed you are - and you wish to make a personal contribution towards the weekend's expenses (in the old days, it was called a 'whip round'), please call Ann at the club on 01706 648004 or send a cheque made payable to Rochdale Hornets RLFC to Ann Manock,
Chief Executive, Rochdale Hornets PO Box 48, Rochdale 0L16 1PE (please write 'Celtic Crusaders' on the back so that the club can identify all those that
have contributed).

As they say at Tesco - every little helps!

Thanks for your continued support.
