Injury problems
Halifax v Rochdale Hornets(Sunday 8th July)
Halifax coach Martin Hall wants a repeat of his side’s defensive doggedness and ferocity when they meet struggling Rochdale.

Hall steered his troops to an 18-6 win against Leigh last week and Halifax are making a real charge for the Co-operative National League One’s top four positions.

Hall said: “Our defence was superb (against Leigh). I was really proud of the way we defended and we dug in when things weren’t going for us.”

Hornets’ boss Darren Abram is facing a mounting injury crisis and is desperately trying to bring players to the club on a short-term basis in an attempt to solve his problems.

Only seven players took part in Tuesday night’s training session with Chris Giles (ribs), Iain Marsh (elbow), Kevin King (arm) and Ryan Benjafield (ankle) the latest casualties.

Abram said: “It makes a difficult fixture even harder.

“Halifax have signed a few players over the last five weeks and with the players that they’ve got they should be pushing any team. They’ve got Super League experience, an excellent kicking game and their forwards have all got high level experience.

“Halifax could be a major contender but it’s a matter of consistency in this game.” Rest of the matches.
