Hornets to sell stadium shares
According to the Rochdale Observer, Hornets chairman David Vining told Observer Sport: “I can confirm Hornets are looking to sell our shares and the football club are one of the prime movers in the purchase of the shares. However, at this moment in time there are other persons interested in purchasing the shares.” “Whoever we ultimately sell the shares to would have to meet certain criteria relating to the continued use of the Stadium by Hornets and the long term future of Rugby League being played at Spotland.”
“At this stage the club can confirm that they would look very favourably at a deal being confirmed by the football club – both clubs suffer from similar issues in keeping live sport within the town and both boards have a strong and positive working relationship with each other.”
