DONCASTER v HORNETS

Doncaster boss Ellery Hanley will be without Chris McKenna after the former Australia international announced his retirement from rugby league this week.

McKenna was viewed as the Dons’ highest-profile signing at the start of the year but he has struggled with a succession of injuries that have prevented him from hitting top form.

Hanley has called for an improved attitude amongst his squad after last Sunday’s home defeat against Gateshead. “It was all about attitude and being smart and we didn’t have that,” he said.

Hornets’ coach Darren Shaw will give late fitness tests to Jonathan Muir (knee), Chris Hough (concussion) and Ian Sinfield (dead leg) before naming his final line-up.

Shaw said: “In the short-term, we’re focussing on performance. But we’re showing some signs of improvement and obviously long-term the goal is to make sure we finish in the play-off positions.

“I’ve seen Doncaster play and they’re very good. They do the little things really well.

“We need this sort of test to see where we are and give us some indications. I’m confident we can go there and get something out of the game if we play as well as we can.” The other games
