Workington preview
Hornets’ boss Darren Shaw is set to demand a big improvement after watching his side slip to defeat against 12-man Keighley last week.

Shaw said: “We do the tough things well but you have to start completing sets and applying some pressure and we’re just not learning.”

Town coach Dave Rotheram is hoping Shaun Lunt, Martyn Wilson and Franco Kmet will all return for Sunday’s Co-operative National League Two fixture.

Workington fell to an agonising defeat against Oldham last week but Rotheram insists there were good signs in his side’s display.

He said: “It was a brave effort and you can’t fault the commitment. It was first class in the face of a lot of adversity.

“Four of our guys got injured in the first half an hour so we played for 50 minutes without any substitutions. To do that against a team like Oldham is very encouraging. It was a fantastic performance.”

He added: “Our next two games are against Rochdale and York and they’ll go a long way towards shaping our destiny. Those six points are very important and will really shape our season.” Rest of the matches.
