Dave Parker's inside information in the Rugby Leaguer has this to say.

SET to make a comeback with Rochdale Hornets is Kelvin Skerrett, the former Great Britain and Wales prop forward, who was last at Halifax some two seasons ago.

Kelvin, who runs a popular hostelry by the name of The Kingdom between Leeds and Castleford at a place called Methley, is a big mate of Martin Hall from their Wigan, Halifax and Wales international days together. The big fella who started out at Hunslet, then onto Odsal with Bradford Northern before moving to Wigan was, in the early part of the last decade, second only to Ellery Hanley in the contract/wages stakes.

He has cut his coaching teeth with his pub side he was running and his experience in close NFP games will be of great assistance to the Hornets.

He is 35 now and despite being an asthmatic always kept himself very fit during his pro-days.

With a stadium at Spotland just ripe for Super League and the joint owners, Rochdale AFC going for promotion from Nationwide Division Three, there is obvious real intent for Hornets to go for it this term after their impressive run under Hall last season
