The Sun Says - Reply 07/11/2001 Jim
GOTCHA!
Sun's thickhead hack sunk by the facts.

Rupert Murdoch's Sun - the rag once described by the press council as having perpetrated "... deplorable, insensitive deception on the public..." has once again demonatrated that it has a rather distant relationship with the facts.
This time it's through their sports hack Phil Thomas, whose article on Danny Sculthorpe proved that he's not a journalist - HE'S A JOKE!

Here at Rochdalehornets.com, we've come up with the FACTS that expose 'Tosspot' Thomas' knowledge of the game he gets paid to cover as USELESS.
Having compared Danny Sculthorpe to David Beckham, he went on to whine that Hornets weren't paying Scully '...a fair whack...". Given the FACT that comparing a player at a semi-pro Rugby League club with a top player at the world's biggest football club is patently RIDICULOUS, we've put together a triple whammy that leaves 'Tosspot Thomas' dead in the water - and PROVES that he really hasn't got a clue what he's writing about.

CRASH! Beckham gets paid around £50,000 a week - that's a whopping £2.5million a year. His estimated market value is £50million - making his annual contract worth 5% of his market value.

BANG! According to Thomas, Danny Sculthorpe is paid £5,000 a year and his market value is £100,000. That makes his annual contract worth 5% of his market value.

WALLOP! Rochdale Hornets pay Danny Sculthorpe the same percentage of his market value as Manchester United pay David Beckham. A very fair whack indeed, we think.
So, here at your super soaraway Rochdalehornets.com, we say to Tosspot Thomas "Next time you're asked to write a piece on something you patently know nothing about, do the maths before sharpening your crayon - YOU INTELLECTUAL PYGMY."
